Chocolate Factory Run
Most people who live in or visit the Campbellford area make what I like to call a “must trip”. Let’s face it, how many times have you bumped into the same people doing a run (in their vehicle) to Dooher’s Bakery, the chocolate factory (World’s Finest Chocolate outlet), and the Empire Cheese Co-op?
But did you know, that C.D.H.S. had its own version of the Chocolate Factory Run”? Students from back in the 1960s and 1970s who took physical education (Phys. ed. or P.E.) will remember doing the chocolate factory run as a warm-up to their Phys. ed. class.
After changing into their gym clothes, the class would take off running on a route through Campbellford from the high school and to the “Chocolate Factory” and return to the school before doing their physical activities which were planned for that day’s Phys. ed. period.
